We’ve loved seeing all our “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” workout warriors be creative in these crazy Coronavirus times.
A great example of this comes to us from Carlsbad, California where Kennedy Jarrad, a graduated senior infielder headed to Rider University to play softball, and her younger sister London Jarrad, a junior pitcher/infielder at Carlsbad High, have worked out extensively together.
The softball siblings, like the rest of the softball world, were forced to stay home but began using the Diamond Kinetics app to track their workout progress.
“You can see how far the ball goes in the air, it tells you how fast your bat speed is and that’s helpful because especially when you don’t have something to see, you can track whether it would have been a good hit or not,” Kennedy told Kalyn McMackin of Fox 5 San Diego.
“On the app, you can kind of compare yourself to what a Division I college softball player’s swing looks like, so I was able to compare myself to both them and my siblings and see where I am compared to them,” London said.
As noted in the article ‘It’s fun to play with her’: Local softball sisters use app to train at home, it’s created some friendly competition between the two sisters.
“There’s been some WWF, WWE moments, but they’re enjoying each other and London won’t say it but she’s going to miss her sister so she’s had some time to bond together,” their father Jeff Jarrad said.
