Voices From the Field — For Preslie Dempster, softball is more than competition—it’s a stage for character, perseverance, and purpose. The Oak Forest High School standout and Belhaven University commit has carved a legacy defined by consistency, leadership, and championship pedigree. As a two-time MAIS Futures selection, 2024 MAIS Defensive Player of the Year, and 2025 State Champion, Dempster’s name has become synonymous with grit and excellence across the Mississippi prep softball landscape.
Her inclusion on the Extra Inning Softball Class of 2026 DIII Watch List solidifies her reputation as one of the most complete players in her class—a competitor whose impact extends beyond statistics. Whether she’s commanding the circle or delivering in the clutch as a utility player, Dempster embodies the type of drive and humility that define the next generation of collegiate athletes.
