Every Thanksgiving Day, my Dad makes his famous clam dip which is accompanied by a few bags of Ruffle chips.
It’s our favorite family appetizer!
However, it’s Mom who spends days in the kitchen preparing a delicious Thanksgiving Day feast with enough food for us to enjoy leftovers for several days including delicious turkey on rolls with cranberry sauce – bon appetit!
As for entertainment, we used to play board games, watch movies, and—if there was enough snow on the ground in Idaho—we would ride snowmobiles for several hours or play in the snow.

For most of my adult life, I raised my children as a single mother. Days off from work were rare and I hate cooking so I decided to cheat by pre-ordering a home-cooked dinner from Cracker Barrel.
It was wonderful because I could heat it up and we could still enjoy the aromas of delicious food baking in the kitchen.
It cost less than $200 and in the long run, I believe I would have spent just as much money buying every ingredient and cooking from scratch. As for entertainment, we made it a tradition to go to a movie and then we would spend our evening playing games together as a family.

No matter what your Thanksgiving Day traditions are or, if you like clam dip or not, be sure to take a few minutes to count your many blessings! My all-time favorite tradition is that we all take turns stating what we are thankful for before we bow our heads in prayer at the dinner table.
This Thanksgiving, we’ve rented an Airbnb in Salt Lake City and, together as a family, will play games, watch the Macy’s Day parade, and heat up the dinner pre-ordered from Cracker Barrel.
We also bought tickets to watch Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and if, we’re (I’m) lucky, we’ll all get to take a nap!
