Allisha Martinez, a 26-year-old former standout softball player, is urgently seeking a living kidney donor. A fixture on the field and in the hearts of those who know her, Allisha now faces the most important fight of her life — one that the softball community can help her win.
A four-year varsity starter at Los Alamitos High School, Martinez helped lead the Griffins to the 2017 CIF Championship, shining as the team’s second baseman. She continued her softball career at Loyola Marymount University and later at Regis University, demonstrating the same grit and grace that defined her high school days.
Now, the athlete who once poured her heart into the game is in need of a life-saving kidney transplant.

Ideal Donor Criteria
The transplant team at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, is looking for a living donor match. The ideal candidate is between the ages of 18 and 40 and has blood type O (positive or negative). Those who meet this criteria can complete a confidential, no-commitment health screening at the following link: Living Donor Screening Form – Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center
Minimal downtime and no long-term impact on the donor’s quality of life are expected. The selfless act of organ donation could not only save Allisha’s life, but also inspire others to consider doing the same for those in similar need.
More Than a Player
Allisha is more than a former athlete. She’s an only child and the heart of a family known for their kindness and unwavering loyalty. Her parents have never missed a game, a practice, or a step in her journey — not as fans, but as cornerstones in the softball world. Their generosity and support have left a lasting mark on every team and community they’ve touched.
“She is an incredible young lady with an unbelievable work ethic and a player that you would want any kid to be like,” said Los Alamitos Head Coach Rob Weil. “Very open-minded, with great respect for others, and a happy-go-lucky kid that loved to face a challenge head-on. We all need to help her out in any way we can—because she would be the first in line to help others.”

In an already challenging time, the burden of finding a donor has added emotional weight for Allisha and her loved ones. Yet, the response from the softball world has been immediate and compassionate — a testament to the impact Allisha has had on and off the field.
