College coaches across the country were eagerly anticipating the day when Lexi McDaniel, the top-ranked player in the 2025 Extra Elite 100 rankings, would make her college decision.
That day is today, and Oklahoma’s Patty Gasso emerged with the prized recruit adding to an already outstanding recruiting class.
McDaniel, who competes for Aces Fastpitch 18U, put up jaw-dropping statistics this summer.
She batted .491 during the summer with 24 home runs and 97 RBIs. She also had 19 doubles, six triples and finished with 115 hits.
“Lexi is a great player and a humble person,” said Aces Fastpitch 18U head coach Ryan Taylor. “Watching her develop since 11 years old has been a joy. She’s driven to learn new things and processes to grow her game. Her work ethic and drive will fit in well with Oklahoma’s overall vision as a program.”
The smooth-fielding middle infielder struck out only 18 times in 261 plate appearances over the summer against elite level competition. Her bat and glove helped Aces Fastpitch 18U earn a runner-up finish at the 18U Alliance Nationals.
McDaniel joins a class at Oklahoma than includes Sophia Bordi (No. 3 on 2025 Extra Elite 100 rankings), Kendall Wells (No. 4 on 2025 Extra Elite 100 rankings) and her Aces teammate Allyssa Parker (Top 10 level talent).
