At the end of 2018, we ranked the accomplishment of Mike Stith coaching his OC Batbuster 18U travel ball team to a championship last summer and then taking his USSSA Pride pro team to a title a few weeks later as one of the Top 10 Stories of the Year.
We learned today that won’t happen again this summer as Stith has told the Pride organization he won’t be returning as head coach.
“I let the (Pride) players know today,” he told Extra Inning Softball’s Brentt Eads on a phone call today. “I loved my time with the team and it was a great experience, but I can’t continue simply because the key person who did everything and held it together when I was gone isn’t here anymore.”
