EXTRA INNING SOFTBALL 2023 ALL-SUMMER TEAM

The 18U, 16U,14U and 12U All-Summer Teams feature players across the nation who shined during the Summer of ’23 and are honored below.

18U DIVISION

CO-MVP PLAYER

* Sydney Boulaphinh, 2024, SS, Top Gun National

Sydney posted elite level numbers this summer and organization head Bob Turner says: “She’s an incredible competitor with off the charts power.” The Stanford-bound infielder came up big in the best events, including 11 home runs and 23 RBIs – along with a .472 batting average – in the Sparkler Power Pool leading Top Gun to a Top 5 finishe. She followed that up hitting .500 with two doubles, a triple, a home run and 11 RBI at the Triple Crown Nationals where her team finished 3rd. Overall, she hit 22 home runs and 12 doubles with 69 RBIs and a .424 batting average and .497 OBP. Add in the Fall and for the year she hit an incredible 30 home runs and drove in 102 runs.

CO-MVP PLAYER

* Lexi McDaniel, 2025, MIF, Aces Fastpitch
Lexi, ranked as the top player in the 2025 Extra Elite 100, didn’t disappoint in 2023 as she helped the Aces 18U team finish second at AFCS Nationals with an eyebrow-raising stat line: a .491 batting average 24 home runs, six triples and 19 doubles. Coach Ryan Taylor says, “Lexi was a staple in the 3-hole because of her consistent bat to ball ability with low strikeouts and a high RBI total.” She drove in an amazing 97 runs and only struck out 10 times this summer. She’s had coast to coast interest and visited Oklahoma and Florida to name just a few of those pursuing her.

Sidne Peters, now at the Univ. of Washington, threw in the low 70’s and limited opposing batters to just a .148 batting average against her.
MVP PITCHER

* Sidne Peters, 2023, P, Impact Gold – Jackson
Sidne, now at Washington, earned Alliance Super Cup All-Tournament Team honors and was the starting pitcher in the Alliance All-Star Game where she had five strikeouts in two innings. The righthander was “absolutely dominant all summer long,” per one Impact coach as she was consistently clocked at 70-to-71 mph and the results showed as she produced a 19-2 record, a 0.85 ERA and 147 strikeouts in 90.1 innings. Opposing hitters batted just .148 against her as she beat some of the most prestigious organizations in travel ball including the Firecrackers, Bombers, Blaze, Corona Angels, Hotshots and more.

ALL-SUMMER TEAM

* Kennedy Ariail, 2023, OF, Vipers – Tamborra
Kennedy, who is now at Clemson, batted .419 for the summer with nine home runs, 38 RBIs and 13 steals. She had a particularly strong run in Colorado at the IDT and Patriot Games when she hit .428 with three home runs and had 13 RBIs. Her head coach, Stacy Tamborra who know runs the Athletics – Tamborra organization, comments: “Kennedy is a gritty 5 tool athlete with high level competitive drive. As our starting right fielder and everyday leadoff you never knew if she was going to draw a walk, hit a leadoff triple or start the game with a run on the board with a home run.”

* Kyleigh Benton, 2025, P/UT, Magic Fastpitch
Kyleigh is rapidly making a name for herself in the pitching circle in Texas. Competing for Magic Fastpitch she finished the summer with a 1.58 earned run average and 133 strikeouts in 82.2 innings pitched while posting 16 wins. She also can swing the bat as she had a .395 batting average and drove in 29 runs for Magic Fastpitch. Playing for Riesel High School, Kyleigh was named the District 13-AA Pitcher of the Year and set a new school record for strikeouts in a season with 265 in 2023.

* Olivia Branstetter, 2023, 3B, Aces Fastpitch
Olivia hit .403 with 13 doubles and three home runs for the Aces. The current South Alabama freshman hit consistently in the 2- ole for the Aces and sometimes lead off. Defensively, she impressed playing third base most of the season and one Aces coach says, “At least once a game, someone—a lot of times college coaches or opposing coaches–commented on her skill set which Olivia showcased defensively at third.” One play that drew raves: she made a barehand grab to throw the runner out at first to start the game in the AFCS championship against the Batbusters. Olivia had 48 RBIs and 19 stolen bases on the summer with only 14 strikeouts.
