The last week of October is a big one… and not just because it’s Halloween Weekend and the end of Daylight Savings Time!
This week we have commit news for programs such as Cal, Dayton, Illinois, James Madison, Kent State, Ole Miss, Pacific, Penn State, St. Johns, Syracuse and many more.
Our Extra Inning Softball Signing/Verbal Database has over 6,000 players from the Classes of 2018 to 2024 and this week we have 70 new additions & updates to continue making it the biggest in the softball world!
Check back tomorrow (Thursday) when we’ll run the list of the new updated verbals and/or club changes of signed and committed players!
We love when coaches and players send us info on exciting news regarding players committing!
For example, Gerry Quinn of Illinois Chill emailed this week to say that two of his outstanding 2022’s will be continuing their play together in the Big Ten. Here’s what Coach Quinn wrote us:
“Two of our 2022s committed to Illinois this weekend. An interesting side note is that they came into our program as 13-year-olds and served as our 2B and SS combo for two years at 14u and then last summer at 16u. I bumped them up to 18u this year and they are playing SS and 2B for me at 18u now so they have been every day middles for us for four years and warm-up partners for four years and now will be going off to college together to boot in 2022. But not until I squeeze two more summers out of them!
Here are some snippets on each:
* Reese Hunkins – Reese is a left handed hitter with an effortless swing that sprays balls all over the field. With each year that passes, the balls come off her bat faster and go farther. Defensively she is sure handed, efficient and her arm is firm and accurate.
* Gabby Debevec – Gabby is an ultra smooth middle infielder with fantastic range chasing pop flies and ground balls in either direction. Offensively she has matured into a reliable hitter that provides contributions at the top or middle of the lineup.
