Abbie Danchus of St. Dominic High School (O’Fallon, Mo.) was named the MaxPreps/NFCA High School Player of the Week for her outstanding performances during the week of Sept. 6-12, 2021.
Danchus keyed the Crusaders to a 6-1 record last week, hitting .750 (18-for-24) with nine doubles, a home run and 19 RBI. She also posted six multi-hit and multi-RBI games in addition to recording at least one double in six games. She notched four-hit outings versus Cor Jesu Academy, St. Francis Borgia and Pacific.
In the latter contest, the junior catcher doubled twice, homered, scored three times and drove in six runs. She also added three two-baggers and four RBI against Cor Jesu and left the yard and registered three RBI versus Warrenton.

The MaxPreps/NFCA High School Player of the Week is announced on NFCA.org every Monday during the fall season. During the spring campaign, a player from each of five separate high school regions is selected.
