Alex Kiemeyer accepted an offer from Coach Elisabeth Beirne to play softball at the collegiate level at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (“IUPUI”).
“I’m so excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at IUPUI!” wrote Alex in her Twitter announcement. “Thank you to Coach Beirne and Coach Gwaltney for the opportunity to play softball at the next level. Go Jags!!”
She plays behind the plate for the Lady Dukes 18u Lamar/Kiemeyer.
“Watching her set a goal at such a young age, work her tail off, compete, and actually meet that goal—I’m beyond proud as a dad and a coach,” comments her father/coach Matt Kiemeyer, sharing that Alex told him she wanted to play at the collegiate level when she was in 10U.

Since her commitment on May 1 of this year, Alex has been a regular in the weight room, batting cages, and bullpen, more dedicated than ever to perfecting every aspect of her game. She is in her senior year at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, Indiana and competes for the varsity softball team.
At IUPUI, Alex plans to earn her degree in business.
