Important Rankings News: the 2023 Extra Elite 100 Rankings Will Begin Halloween (Oct. 31) Day… Here’s Why They’re Pushed Back a Week

As you may know, I oversee our site’s Extra Elite 100 Rankings team and we were scheduled to highlight the FINAL 2023 Extra Elite 100 rankings starting this upcoming Monday.

However, the multi-week process will be pushed back a week and instead will begin on Monday, October 31, 2022, a week later than originally planned. We hope to have the the Top 100 announced by Signing Day, which is the second Monday in November (Nov. 9).

Why the delay?

That’s on me: I’ve been under the weather for a couple weeks and, yesterday morning, I went to my regular doctor for a blood test and x-rays. Not long afterwards, the doctor’s office called me and said:

“You need to get to the ER (Emergency Room) ASAP… you have multiple kidney stones and they could really do some damage, as early as tonight!”

So much for my plans last nigh; I was subsequently in the ER for over five hours undergoing two blood draws, an IV, a urine test and a CT scan

Fortunately, surgery wasn’t needed–I’ve had that before and “no thank you!“–and I was able to come home but it still looks like I’ll need a laser procedure this week to break up the kidney stones. Sadly, this will keep me going to a top softball event I was excited to attend, the PGF Ultimate Challenge in Salinas, Calif. (but we will have boots on the ground there repping us anyways).

So… the rankings will be delayed a week, sorry, but it will give us more time to go over all the great info submitted.

And, remember, what was written last week about it being a “more streamlined top 100” list:

“Unlike previous editions of Extra Elite 100 rankings which had ‘ties’ to get more talented players honored, this edition and ones to follow will be more of a true Top 100 list.”

RANKINGS LAUNCH

The upcoming 2023 Extra Elite 100 and related features will begin on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022 with #’s 100-91 and 10 slots per day will be covered.
