Taylor Caudill is one of the top 2020 pitchers in country and this past summer led her Monarchs Gold team to the PGF 16U Platinum Championship.
She pitched 50 innings with 85 K’s, going 8-0 in bracket play and finishing with a 0.42 ERA to earn MVP Pitcher honors and 2019 PGF Platinum All-Tournament Team.
Taylor is also a great student at JSerra Catholic High in San Juan Capistrano, California and actually could have gone to several Ivy League programs, but ultimately chose Boise State because of what she felt the university offered athletically and academically.
The So Cal senior took her official visit to BSU from Friday, October 11 through Sunday, October 13, 2019… here’s her first-person account in words and photos of how the trip went (spoiler alert: she loved it!)…

We got into Boise extremely late, landing at 11:45 pm Thursday, October 10th and not getting to our hotel until 12:30 am. My California blood was not used to the weather and I had to put my winter jacket on right when we got off the plane. It felt like it was below zero and I was freezing!

Friday was filled with mostly meetings and touring the campus. It is such an amazing place with a great family environment that I felt like I was at home right when I stepped on campus. Not to mention I got to meet my future teammates for the first time!

Time for a photo shoot, getting to represent our Boise State gear! It was so much fun to hang out with the girls and to see the uniforms for the first time. Putting it on and seeing my future teammates made me look forward to Boise even more than I already am. It also made me realize that I need to work on my straight face some more.

Our uniforms look sharp and we look good. After this we were off to lunch at the student union and one of the perks of Boise is its amazing food!

Another group shot of us, this time at The Blue. Getting a top of the line view of the bright blue turf that makes Boise stand out from the rest. The marching band was practicing for the game the next night, so we got serenaded for a bit.

We got to watch the team practice after lunch. Going down on the field after to meet all of the girls. The rest of the night was filled with ultimate nachos and more at the Reef, and warm cookies from Chip.

Getting to watch the Broncos play their double header against Oregon and Idaho State. Luckily it wasn’t super cold, the weather was perfect for games. All of us getting ready for the football game tonight, beyond excited to go onto the field.

It was a walk to get to our seats but we had a perfect view of the whole field. Boise went on to win 59-37 against Hawaii.

We all had an amazing time going down on the field. Watching the team warmup and run out on the field is something I won’t forget. I can’t wait to go to watch many more games in the future. Left to right: Hailey, me, Clarissa, Abby, Grace, Bobbi, and Ashlyn.
