Mia Galella, a 1B/OF/power hitter who is #25 in the 2025 Extra Elite 100, blogs about her softball adventures for Extra Inning Softball and in this week’s edition talks about going to the East Coast Summer Showcase and also taking part in the North Carolina State summer camp.
In her Extra Elite 100 bio we wrote that:
“Mia is one of the hardest working players in her class and also one of the strongest. She has an exit velocity measured at 77 mph and has on video hit 12 balls in a row over a 200-foot fence during practice.”
“Mia isn’t just a big bopper, she has been timed in home-to-first with a 3.04 second mark and is looking to go sub-3.0.”
From Moscow, Pennsylvania, she’s 5-foot-9 and hit .760 at TCS Nationals last August in Myrtle Beach.”
We also profiled her in an Extra Star Power article published in March 2020 titled: 2025 Power Hitter Mia Galella Has “Freakish Power” & Runs Well Too!
Here’s what she has to say about her early summer road adventures …
*****
My VA Glory team played in the East Coast Summer Showcase which was an amazing event with college coaches everywhere.
On Friday, the weather wasn’t the best, but the field crews did a great job working on all the fields in New Jersey and Delaware. The only fields that were not playable were those in one location in Delaware.
My TCS International Team coach Stephanie Froussine and Coach Jason Steiner’s team Firecrackers IV – Steiner 18U came all the way from California to play. It was awesome to see so many great teams compete on the East Coast at a single showcase event.
My team played a night game under the lights against an East Cobb Bullets team combined of both 16U and 18U players. I hit a grand slam home run against some very good pitching which the Bullets always seem to have.
Here’s a clip of it:
There is nothing like going yard under the lights!
I always love being challenged. I got some props from University of South Carolina stud infielder Kassidy Krupit. It’s such a great feeling when anyone who plays at the highest level recognizes you!
I also personally met Rachel Coleman, who is the head of East Coast Softball. She is so nice and was complimenting me not only about my grand slam but all my hard work I put in. The event overall was a great showcase and I think will continue to grow each year.
Sunday night, my Dad and I hopped on a plane and flew to Raleigh, North Carolina for the NC State camp which was a two-day camp (Monday & Tuesday).
