Last week, we told you how USA Softball announced a three-game series between Team USA and Team Mexico as part of the Stand Beside Her Tour presented by Major League Baseball (MLB).
Set for this Friday through Sunday( Feb. 12-14, 2021) at the Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy, this will be the U.S. National Team’s first international competition of the season following a mid-January training camp.
Yesterday, Saturday Feb. 6, in advance of the games with Mexico, Team USA held a scrimmage at the Halo facility in McKinney, Texas. Four pitchers got in reps and the batters hit in pods of four.
Kelly Kretchman ran the show for the U.S. team setting the lineups and assignments and, according to Kevin Shelton of the Texas Glory organization, who helped secure the facility for the workout, “It was pretty spirited and, even though it was cold, they had fun!”
