If you’ve followed Extra Inning Softball for a while, you know that we’re big fans of RISR, the mobile-based platform built by—and for—fastpitch athletes to deliver trusted and actionable training information, instantly.
Consisting of world-renowned softball greats Amanda Chidester, Haylie McCleney, Erika Piancastelli and Janie Reed (see their bios below), the training company has announced the launch of a new RISR app which can be found on its website, which you can access by clicking HERE or going to www.risrapp.com.
Once on the site, there will be a pop up that will take you to the app store to purchase for $19.99 a month or $199.99/year. There are also team rates and organization rates as well.
Contact info@risrapp.com for more information on those packages. You can also track RISR on all social media at @risrapp.
And be sure to check out this awesome video they’ve produced…

Extra Inning caught up with the founders of the company to learn more about the exciting new app… here’s what they had to say!
What do you think RISR will do to the next generation of fastpitch players?
Erika Piancastelli:Â RISR will open up so many doors for the younger generation. We are combining hitting with mental training, which is something our sport has been lacking in. We create content for all age groups and we use all four of our different personalities to reach every athlete. We all have the same philosophy when it comes to RISR, we just express it in our own ways. RISR is meant to be a supplement in their training, that also allows them to have fun and enjoy the process.
What is your favorite RISR feature?Â
Haylie McCleney: The mental training portion of the app definitely. It is so unique but so needed. There are things that only players can understand about adversity, pressure, confidence, and other things. We are sharing what we have experienced with those athletes to build them up and encourage them that they are enough and that their best is in front of them.
What have you enjoyed the most being apart of the RISR journey?
Haylie McCleney: I think the vision that RISR has created has inspired us as instructors to put our best into this platform every day. It’s a team that is set on making our game more accessible and helping young players grow both on and off the field.
What has this RISR journey meant to you?
Janie Reed: The RISR journey has been such a great place to put the knowledge and experience I’ve gained during my career in one place. Ever since I graduated college it’s been my goal to help younger athletes learn quicker than it took me both on and off the field. And what is even greater about RISR is that it has four different athlete perspectives which brings me so much joy because the softball journey is personal and it’s important for athletes to have someone they feel like they can relate to and look up to.
Where do you see RISR in 5 years?
Janie Reed: I see RISR being incorporated in different travel, high school, and college programs. I also envision it becoming a huge resource for coaches and eventually getting a wide variety of instructors involved.
