Recruiting Profile: Robyn Herron Commits to the Arkansas Razorbacks on a Campus Visit Last Week

Robyn Herron, who last week committed to Arkansas, is seen here pitching during her junior year against Newsome High in a Top 25 national game of unbeaten teams.

Robyn Herron is one of the top pitchers in Florida and the 2022 grad was dominating in the circle this Spring until an injury forced her out of the lineup.

She’s come back as strong as ever over the last few months and last week pulled the trigger on where she’ll play in the future.

Here’s her recruiting story and how this Tampa, Florida standout will someday be pitching in the SEC…

After advancing to a NCAA Super Regional for the second time in program history, the Arkansas Razorbacks picked up a key commitment on the recruiting trail from top target Robyn Herron, who announced her verbal commitment last Thursday night.

Robyn had a strong summer pitching for the Wichita Mustangs

The talented left-handed pitcher made the decision after a one-day visit to campus, selecting the Razorbacks over Florida, Florida State and Oklahoma State.

“I’ve had my eyes on Arkansas for a while,” Herron said. “I just wanted to go on my visit and see it in person – it wasn’t an easy decision, but once I got there, it felt easy.”

After lunch with the Razorbacks coaching staff, Herron was led through the student-athlete facilities and nutrition centers before getting a chance to speak with some of the academic advisors – all before even getting a chance to look at the softball facilities, something that the rising senior really liked.

“They were more focused on the support that student-athletes get, rather than the softball aspect. Everything from the mental and psychological aspect to the nutrition, just the overall student-athlete life,” she said. “That was nice…I’m a person first and a student also. So, it’s not all about softball, even though that’s a huge part, it’s not only about softball.”

After getting a chance to tour Arkansas’ football, basketball and other sports facilities, their final stop came at Bogle Park, the Razorback softball team’s home.

“That was, of course, the best saved for last,” Herron added.
