No, you are not seeing double.
We featured 2022 C/1B Isabella Manory on Extra Inning Softball last week after she committed to Marist College in an article titled “Little Did I Know That One Phone Call Would Change My Life!”and today we are spotlighting her twin sister, Adriana Manory, a 2022 C/UT, who committed to Central Connecticut State University on Jan. 14.
“My softball career all started in our living room during Christmas time nine years ago,” Adriana said. “My parents had my sister and I hitting a pair of rolled up socks with a wrapping paper roll.”
Adriana’s recruiting journey started about a year and a half ago, and needless to say there were new hurdles to overcome because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We saw an article about the use of social media, specifically regarding Twitter,” Adriana said. “Twitter has been a fantastic tool for recruiting, especially during COVID. The great thing about Twitter is it puts a player in direct contact with a college coach. You can post a video clip, game clip or hitting clip to your Twitter, tag a specific coach and they receive a notification. It puts you right in front of them when you can’t be right in front of them.”
Adriana was lucky to see some schools before the pandemic hit.
“As far as visiting schools,” she said. “I was able to visit Central Connecticut State University last January right before COVID hit and instantly felt connected to the school. Little did I know just a year later I would be verbally committing to go to college there. Since the very beginning of the recruiting process, Central Connecticut has been my top pick.”
