Vanessa Oatley has long been one of the top pitchers in the Northeast and had a big year for her Rhode Island high school team where she went 20-4 with a 0.19 ERA and 213 strikeouts to lead the team to the Div. 2 state title. She received 1st Team All-State and All-Division honors.
The lefty pitcher who throws in the mid-60’s followed that up with a club national title as she was on the Georgia Impact – Lewis pitching staff along with Kelley Lynch that won the PGF 18U Premier Nationals and for the summer helped the team go 53-13-4. Vanessa had a 2.10 ERA against elite 18U division pitching and against the OC Batbusters in the Boulder IDT finals went five innings and gave up just one earned run.
The Northeast senior who was in the Top 75 of the 2019 Extra Elite 100 is a key reason Penn State will likely have a Top 10 recruiting class… here’s more on her recruiting journey.
