Rising 2028 Pitchers Turning Heads Early

Nominations open August 1 for the next round of our 2028 rankings, we’re checking in on some of the top pitchers from last year’s list—and wow, the circle has been busy. As we prepare for the upcoming rankings, these pitchers are already making a case for their place on the Watchlist of emerging talent, showcasing skills that will undoubtedly catch attention.

These arms aren’t just dominating—they’re growing, developing, and earning hardware along the way, solidifying their spots on the Watchlist. Whether they’re fanning batters with rising velocity or showing poise beyond their years, this class is loaded with future aces.

Many of these pitchers have already made an impact at the high school level, earning varsity honors, playoff recognition, and state titles as freshmen. Others continue to shine in top national tournaments, proving that their talent translates no matter the stage. With every outing, they’re setting the tone for what’s ahead—not just in this recruiting cycle, but for the future of the sport and their potential inclusion on the Watchlist.

The players featured in this article are on our radar, but they must still be officially nominated to be fully evaluated by our Rankings Committee.
