On Monday, we kickoff the updated 2025 Extra Elite 100 rankings an,d in anticipation of profiling these great athletes, profile a San Diego-area player who was Top 10 in the initial list…
Her first name is beautiful in its own right: Analesse.
Her nickname of “Peanut,” though humorous, comes with a harrowing story behind it, however.
Analesse was born five days before Christmas in 2006, but it was far from an easy birth. We’ll let Peanut recap the story… after all, she was there!
“When I came out of my mom’s womb I was not crying or breathing because she had a long labor and they had to do an emergency C-section,” the athlete explains. “When I was born the nurse was yelling ‘Come on Peanut!” as she was trying to revive me.”

Obviously, the nurse did her job and the nickname stuck.
Today, the eighth grader is a title-winning pitcher considered one of the best in the 2025 class. Peanut really burst on the scene two years ago when she led her Power Surge team to a runner-up finish PGF Nationals.
She’s a hard thrower, ticking the radar guns at over 60 mph, and locates her pitches well. As one coach told us, “She has five great pitches and the size and strength already to dominate any team. Peanut is calm in the circle and has a great presence on the mound.”
Perhaps one reason Peanut stays composed under pressure is because her father served 23 years in the U.S. Navy and his athletic daughter can put things into perspective, knowing that softball is important, but there’s more important things in life.
Every time someone calls her by her nickname, Analesse is reminded of that.
“Yes, it was a scary moment for my parents,” she says of her birth that week of Christmas more than 14 years ago, “but I thank the nurse for saving my life and giving me a softball nickname!”
Here’s more on this pitcher considered one of the best in her class..

What’s been your most memorable softball experience?
I have multiple memorable softball experiences. One of my most memorable softball experiences was to pitch in the 2019 12U National Premier Championship Game. Also, traveling to Oklahoma to watch the college World Series and winning the Triple Crown OKC Tournament.
What would you say are your strengths on the field?
I would say one of my strengths on the field is that I’m able to stay composed during pressure situations. Pitching in multiple championship games has taught me how to manage difficult situations.
