Stars Over Alabama Launches the Partnership
The first official activation of the DC Elite Softball and Extra Inning Softball partnership will take place during Stars Over Alabama, running June 26-28 in Alabaster, Chelsea and Calera Alabama.
The collaboration will continue throughout the summer with two additional DC Elite showcase events also participating in the Tournament Performance Rankings initiative, including Stars Over Georgia on July 10-12 in Columbus, Georgia, and Stars Over Mississippi on July 17-19 in Starkville, Mississippi.
As part of the launch, Extra Inning Softball will randomly distribute approximately 500 swag bags throughout the event weekend. Select bags will include special Golden Tickets featuring prizes, giveaways, and exclusive surprises for athletes and families.

In addition to the excitement surrounding the event atmosphere, the Tournament Performance Rankings initiative will give athletes another opportunity to compete for recognition beyond the scoreboard.
Unlike traditional showcase formats where games can sometimes feel disconnected from meaningful outcomes, both organizations believe combining exposure with competitive evaluation creates a stronger overall athlete experience.
“Our events have always been built around meaningful competition,” Cox said. “The addition of Tournament Performance Rankings gives athletes another opportunity to showcase themselves while still competing at a high level.”

What Are Tournament Performance Rankings?
Extra Inning Softball’s Tournament Performance Rankings provide athletes with an opportunity to earn verified national exposure based on actual tournament production.
Following the event, participating athletes submit tournament statistics HERE within three days of competition. The Extra Inning Softball rankings system then evaluates performances using position-specific metrics, offensive production, and overall impact.
Selected athletes are featured on national leaderboards published across the Extra Inning Softball platform, reaching millions of annual impressions from athletes, families, organizations, and college coaches nationwide.
The rankings are completely free for participating athletes.

Simple Path to National Exposure
The Tournament Performance Rankings process was built to be fast and accessible for athletes competing throughout the summer.
Following each participating event, parents and athletes simply scan the designated QR code or click HERE to submit tournament statistics within three days of competition.
Once submissions are received, the Extra Inning Softball team manages the complete evaluation process, reviewing performance data, validating production, and placing standout athletes into the official Tournament Performance Rankings system. It’s that simple!
For those wondering about the verification process, parents are asked to upload a screenshot of their athlete’s tournament statistics during submission. The process takes just a few minutes and helps ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Tournament Performance Rankings.

Recognition Beyond the Field
In addition to national leaderboard exposure, division winners within the Tournament Performance Rankings platform will receive a free annual Extra Inning Softball membership along with a featured spotlight article and exclusive athlete interview published across the Extra Inning Softball network.
Every athlete who participates in Tournament Performance Rankings will also be evaluated and placed onto the national leaderboards using the statistics, player photos, and athlete information submitted to the Extra Inning Softball team.
The initiative is designed to provide athletes with verified visibility while helping families, coaches, and recruiters gain additional insight into standout tournament performances throughout the summer showcase season.

Elevating the Showcase Experience

Founded nearly a decade ago by Danielle Cox, DC Elite Softball was built on a mission to provide elite showcase opportunities and first-class athlete experiences throughout the Southeast.
As a former Florida State Hall of Famer inductee, Cox used her experience at the highest levels of the game to create events designed to maximize athlete exposure and development.
Originally launched as a camp-based company, DC Elite quickly evolved into one of the region’s fastest-growing showcase organizations after Cox recognized a major gap in high-level exposure opportunities for athletes in Alabama and surrounding states.
“For a long time, many athletes in Alabama had to travel significant distances to experience high-level showcase events, and I wanted to provide something exceptional in my home state,” Cox said.
That vision led to the creation of Stars Over Alabama, which eventually expanded into Stars Over Mississippi and Stars Over Georgia as demand for quality showcase experiences continued to grow throughout the Southeast.

“You’ll notice many of our events are intentionally hosted in mid-size markets and communities where we can create a major-event atmosphere while still providing strong accessibility for families and teams,” Cox explained.
As the company expanded, Cox also introduced DC Elite’s Collegiate Series events, reconnecting with her alma mater, Florida State, while building events designed to inspire athletes beyond competition alone.
“I’m a huge believer in creating experiences that inspire athletes, so I never wanted to simply host another tournament,” Cox said. “Our Collegiate Series events are built around experience and inspiration.”
DC Elite’s Collegiate Series weekends feature large kickoff parties prior to Florida State and Alabama softball games, complete with DJs, mascots, cheerleaders, face painting, giveaways, autograph sessions, NIL athlete appearances, and interactive fan experiences.

Most recently, Florida State standout Michaela Edenfield participated in autograph sessions and fan interaction activities during one of the organization’s events.
“The goal is for young athletes to not only compete, but to actually visualize what the future of softball can look like for them and leave inspired to take their game to another level,” Cox said.
In addition to athlete experiences, DC Elite also hosts coaches’ chalk talks featuring Alabama and Florida State coaching staffs, giving travel ball coaches opportunities to learn, connect, and grow within the sport.
Tournament competition remains a major priority as well.

DC Elite events have also featured special appearances from Jaysoni Beachum and Isa Torres, who have shared their experiences and insights with attending athletes. Both players are currently juniors on the Florida State softball team and have helped inspire the next generation of athletes through their involvement with DC Elite showcases.

DC Elite’s Collegiate Series format includes three pool games followed by a single-elimination championship bracket over two days, while the organization’s summer showcase events combine a one-day exposure camp with a three-day showcase format featuring four pool games and Sunday bracket play.
“From an athlete perspective, I never loved showcase formats where games felt meaningless,” Cox said. “I strongly believe athletes should still have something to compete for, and our Sunday championship play creates that balance between recruiting exposure and true competitive softball.”

DC Elite Softball has also become known for its younger-age Shooting Stars events, which focus heavily on creating memorable experiences for youth athletes through themed parties, stage walks, music nights, giveaways, and interactive entertainment.
The organization plans to continue expanding that experience in 2027 with a large waterfront kickoff event in Albertville, Alabama.
Another unique aspect of DC Elite Softball is its female-driven leadership structure. CEO and President Danielle Cox and Vice President Lauren Leach guide the organization’s overall vision, operations, athlete experience, and long-term growth initiatives.
Leach, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, plays a major role in overseeing athlete wellness, event safety standards, weather protocols, and overall player care throughout the organization’s events.
Supporting that leadership team are Rachel Pendergrass and Kelly Bragg, who play vital roles in event operations, marketing, communication, team relations, and recruiting coordination throughout the year.

Bragg serves as DC Elite’s Manager of Event Development and Marketing, helping drive the organization’s continued growth and national visibility through strategic marketing efforts, event planning, and administrative support.
Pendergrass serves as DC Elite’s Star Camp and Event Team Lead, overseeing social media initiatives while also acting as one of the organization’s primary team liaisons. Through DC Elite’s hands-on liaison system, she helps guide teams through event preparation, recruiting logistics, scheduling, and onboarding support to ensure a smooth showcase experience.
Together, the leadership team works to create a supportive environment for athletes, families, coaches, and organizations while continuing to expand DC Elite’s impact across the Southeast.
Cox, who played junior college softball, Power Four softball at Florida State, and professionally afterward, continues to shape the company’s mission and passion. Event operations are further supported on-site by experienced tournament staff, including Tournament Director Horace Johnson.
“Our staff does this full-time, year-round, and we care deeply about delivering a premium experience that matches what families are investing financially,” Cox said.

DC Elite Softball also continues to expand its national event footprint with two new tournaments already on the horizon.
“At the end of the day, I want families and athletes to feel like they were inspired, they were valued, they were cared for, and they truly received what they invested in,” Cox said.
The organization recently announced the upcoming Garnet Gold Tournament, scheduled for Spring 2027 at the James Messer Sports Complex and Florida State Rec Sports Plex in Tallahassee, Florida.

In addition, DC Elite will launch the Crimson White Tournament in the fall of 2026 at Bowers Park in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, with official event dates expected to be announced soon.
Both events will continue DC Elite’s mission of combining high-level competition, athlete exposure, and memorable event experiences for softball families across the country.

A Shared Vision for Athlete Exposure
Both DC Elite Softball and Extra Inning Softball share a commitment to expanding opportunities for athletes nationwide while continuing to elevate the travel softball experience.
