12U Finals
Athletics Mercado 2027-Bustamante beat Athletics Mercado-Godoy, 8-2, in the 12U final of the PCFL 10U and 12U February Qualifier on Sunday at Rosetta Canyon Sports Park in Lake Elsinore, CA.
Eva Bustamante, #42 in the 2027 Extra Elite 100, hit two home runs, including a grand slam, Asia Victoria homered, and Addison Brown, #22 in the 2027 Extra Elite 100, also homered twice to power Daniel Bustamante‘s Athletics.
Athletics Mercado 2027-Bustamante and Athletics Mercado-Gody both earned Tier 1 berths to Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series 2 July 25-31 in Oklahoma City.
Athletics Mercado-Bustamante beat Corona Angels-Gutierrez/Valdez, 15-2, in the semifinals on Sunday to reach the final. Athletics Mercado-Gody beat Corona Angels-Jordan, 4-3, Athletics Mercado RC 2027, 6-1, and Corona Angels-Gutierrez/Valdez, 6-5, in the loser’s bradcket to reach the final.
Athletics Mercado RC 2027 and Corona Angels-Gutierrez/Valdez also earned AFCS 2 berths.
10U Finals
Corona Angels 2011 Rogers-Edwards cruised to a 12-0 victory over Athletics Mercado-Shelton in the 10U final.
The Corona Angels 2011 Rogers-Edwards and Athletics Mercado-Shelton both earned Tier 1 berths to AFCS 2, which will be held July 25-31 in Oklahoma City.
P Samaya Jinna struck out 35 in 13 innings, allowed one earned run and batted over .300, P Julia Horton struck out 15 in eight innings and batted over .300, 2B/OF/C Shayla L. Mata was 7 for 11, and 3B/OF Ginger Rickenbacker was 7 for 10 to lead the Corona Angels.
Athletics Mercado-Shelton beat Ohana Tigers-Harris/Hernandez, 8-2, OC Batbusters-Shumaker, 9-4, and Corona Angels-Jordan, 8-0, in the loser’s bracket to reach the final. Corona Angels 2011 Rogers-Edwards defeated Athletics Mercado-Shelton, 11-0, and Corona Angels-Jordan, 7-0, in the winner’s bracket to reach the final.
OC Batbusters-Shumaker and Corona Angels-Jordan also earned AFCS 2 berths.
