Paige Bettermann, a talented right-handed pitcher and first baseman for the Santa Fe Inferno 09, shares her perspective on the game.
Paige Bettermann continues to establish herself as one of the top southeastern pitchers competing in the club scene for the class of 2027.
Hailing from Cape Coral, Florida, the athlete attends Bishop Verot High School, where she maintains a 4.0 GPA while committing nearly every ounce of free time to perfecting her craft on the mound and in the box.
At the club level, Paige plays for the Santa Fe Inferno 09, led by Coach Bam Donalson, a top national team out of Lakeland, Florida, comprised of elite athletes in the 2027 and 2028 classes.
When she’s not on the mound, Paige plays first base for the Interno.
“Paige is an amazing young lady and athlete who has so many great qualities, it makes it very hard to choose what I’d say I like most about her,” shared Coach Donalson. “However, mostly I think it’s her work ethic, mental focus, and toughness that speaks volumes for the player she has developed into, and the one she will become. She’s a great teammate, has a high IQ for the game, and strives for perfection. I am honored that I get to have the opportunity to coach her during her softball journey!”
The group has won several PGF tournaments hosted in their home state, collecting high profile victories against top competition in recent seasons, including a win over the Tampa Mustangs (Pynes)—a PGF Platinum National Champion—, as well as teams in the Breakers Labs, Birmingham Thunderbolts, and Iowa Premier Gold organizations.
During these efforts, Paige led the Inferno on the mound—which is no surprise, given the athlete has maintained 100+ strikeouts each season since 10U—throwing 110Ks for 76 innings this summer and keeping the BAA impressively low at .170. As a result of her performance, Paige has received several accolades for her performance in the circle, including USSSA Direct Select (Select 30 and Pitcher of the Tournament), USA Softball AA, and has been recognized as the Most Valuable Player and All-Tournament for many events.

More impressive, the Inferno played half of their tournaments, including Alliance Fastpitch events, up an age division (or two!) against a very tough schedule. During a game against the Clearwater Bombers 18U Mason, Paige threw a no-hitter for five of the six innings of regulation, demonstrating her ability to perform against high-level competition.
A career .340 hitter at the plate, Paige Bettermann has proved herself as an all-around athlete who is a threat on both offense and defense.
