Britt Nielsen of Arlington High School (Neb.) captured the first MaxPreps/NFCA High School Player of the Week for the 2023 fall season. Nielsen is being recognized for her outstanding performance during the week of Aug. 14-20.
Nielsen powered Arlington to a 4-1 week, batting .769 (10-for-13) with four home runs, 13 RBI and seven runs scored. The junior also doubled, drew two walks, slugged 1.769 and reached base at a .824 clip.
Nielsen opened the week with a pair of long balls, six RBI and three runs in game one versus Bayard. She followed up with five more RBI and a homer in game two. Nielsen launched a two-run round tripper in a 6-0 triumph over Pierce.
To nominate a player for the award, the coach must enter his or her athlete’s game stats into MaxPreps.com by Sunday evening to be eligible for that week’s award. The MaxPreps/NFCA High School Player of the Week is announced on NFCA.org every Monday during the fall season.
