Gaby Mizelle came to her parents with a big proposition at the end her sixth grade year: to pursue her passion and join a club team that would compete at the national level. To her delight, they agreed.
Since then, the shortstop from Raleigh, North Carolina has been a part of several elite organizations—two of which have won PGF Championships. Presently, she competes with Georgia Impact Premier—Caymol.
“Playing for these teams has allowed me to develop as a player and given me the confidence necessary to compete at the highest level,” commented Gaby. “I absolutely love my team and the environment the coaches have created. We work hard, we play hard, and we love each other so much, which makes it extremely fun!”
Softball proved to be a viable avenue to new, exciting opportunities and experiences for the powerful right-handed hitter.
For instance, the past two summers, Gaby was invited to represent the Dominican Republic—the island her mother was born on—during the Triple Crown International Challenge event in Colorado.
