Select 30: Day 4 in Viera, Florida:
For it being the last day, it sure was a fun day!
Before we had our last games in the morning, we warmed up at the softball stadium. We did some stretches and then a relay race to get our blood pumping. In my game, my team totally fell apart. We started off not hitting then it became a situation where errors seemed to happen every play. We lost 16-2 without any fight for a win; we just gave up.
After our loss, we just let it go and went on to watch the Skills Challenge.
The USSSA Select 30 coaches took the testing scores, plus how well we all did in our games, and took the best of the best to go against each other in a 40-meter dash, a throwing contest, and a Home Run Derby.
The most fun event to watch was the Home Run Derby because whoever got the most home runs out of the Select 30 players had to go against some of the Pride players. You really got to see how those Pride players can play and the competition you are going up against!
This week I had an amazing time, I learned a lot, and had a great experience!
I definitely got better as a person and a softball player this week and these Pride girls give you a perspective on where you want to be and what you can achieve.
They are a great inspiration to players like me!
