Extra Inning Softball is pleased to announce the launch of our new Extra Impact Ambassadors Program, led by Katie Lively.
We are excited to introduce the inaugural class of Extra Impact Ambassadors, a fantastic group of young players selected to represent Extra Inning Softball. This program, open to all members participating on travel ball teams during the spring and summer of 2024, is designed to foster growth, mentorship, and community engagement. As Extra Impact Ambassadors, these players will receive guidance from Extra Inning Softball staff and affiliates, enhancing their skills both on and off the field.
Throughout their journey, the Ambassadors will share their personal stories, insights, and experiences, contributing to our mission of empowering, inspiring and supporting others within the Fastpitch softball community. They will also gain invaluable experience in sports media and communication, learning skills such as branding, advocacy, and content creation. Now, let’s meet these extraordinary young women who are going to make a significant impact on and off the diamond.

Being a part of a strong collegiate softball program has always been a dream of mine since I began playing with the Ohio Stingrays as an eight year old. When I was twelve, I played in the All American Games in Oklahoma. This past year, I was invited to be a part of the High Performance Player program and played in the USA HPP event in Vero Beach Florida. It was a great experience and I was happy to be in the U.S.A. Softball uniform again! I just finished up my freshman year of varsity softball at Licking Valley HS. We had a great year with a record of 19-9 and we made it all the way to the district finals. I was fortunate to be recognized as 2nd Team All- State, 1st Team All-District, and 1st Team All-League. My parents are. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication on my part, but every moment spent on the field feels like a step closer to my dreams. I also take my academics very seriously. I am an honor student and being a part of the National Honor Society is a huge honor for me. Balancing academics and athletics can be tough. I strive to be a nice person. I believe in kindness and positivity and I do my best to spread both wherever I go. Life is too short to dwell on the negatives so I try to find the silver lining in every situation and keep a smile on my face. Family is everything to me. They are my biggest cheerleaders, whether they are rooting for me from the bleachers at a game or just being there for me after a tough loss. Their love and support means the world to me, and I don’t know where I would be without them.

Hi everyone! I’m Brooklynn Hagerty, a 15 year-old freshman from Logansport, Indiana. I play varsity as a pitcher and 1st base for the Logansport Berries and Frost Falcons 09 out of Georgia. Marina Harrod – Class of 2027 – Illusions Gold National 16u Garcia
I have many interests, from music, sports and art, to helping people and animals. By eight years old, I’d tried everything from gymnastics and dance to piano, but realized my true gift and passion was softball. I have played softball with club and travel teams ever since. Through this time, I have made lasting friendships and have grown to love the sport on a level that transcends just game play. I thrive in the moment when the game is on the line, and the larger the audience the better. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy crafts, making jewelry and saving the planet by thrifting vintage items from the 90’s and early 00’s. When I am at home, my trusty pair of boxer dogs are constantly by my side. My future goal is to help children by becoming a pediatric nurse. Some extremely kind people have been there for me at some of my lowest moments, and helped me realize I could give back in a similar way by following them into health care for kids. I have had many ups and downs in my softball career and am blessed to have the best support system of coaches, teammates and family. I’m honored and thrilled to be a part of the EIS Family. I’m excited to learn from and share experiences with the softball community, and look forward to lending my experience and assistance to future generations of players.

Lalia Mejia – Class of 2029 – Beverly Bandits 2011 Perry
Hi, I’m Lalia Mejia, or “Cheeze” as the softball world has called me since I was 9 years old. I’m 12 years old and fortunate to be a catcher on the Beverly Bandits 2011 Perry team. Softball has been my passion since I could hold a bat and I make sacrifices each day to be the best I can be to make my dream of becoming an Olympic softball player come true. I was born in Miami, FL, but grew up as an “Army Brat” living in Texas, Alabama, and Georgia, before settling in Centerville, OH. Since the age of one, I was raised only by my dad who was an active duty Army pilot for 21 years. Balance and multitasking have been my specialty since I could walk. In a two-person household, everyone has to pull their weight (so my dad says). I’ve been balancing chores, gifted classes, softball lessons, practices, games, track, and of course fun since I played my first tee ball game. I am no stranger to adversity as I attended 6 elementary schools in 3 years. I also know about hard work both on and off the field, since being a girl raised by an Army dad isn’t easy. When it comes to fun, I love spending time with my teammates, playing foosball, ping pong, video games, and going to the mall.

It is so much fun to play a sport that I love and to be surrounded by girls with the same passion and drive. I also play Varsity Softball at The Kings Academy where I love our young team and can’t wait to see our future together as we grow. Nola Tylke – Class of 2027 – Athletics Gold Tamborra/Hamilton 09
I’m originally from Wisconsin and moved to Acworth, GA before high school and currently attend Harrison High School. As a versatile infielder, rotating between third base, second base, and shortstop. I bring versatility to help my team. Playing with Athletics Gold Tamborra/Hamilton for travel club ball, I love the environment that fosters growth and camaraderie and provides opportunity to showcase our skills and compete at the highest levels. Participating in the USA Softball High Performance Program (HPP) for three consecutive years has been a highlight, culminating in competing at the National Team Trials. Wearing the USA jersey is an honor, pushing me to excel against the nation’s best players. Softball isn’t just a sport—it’s a way of life, instilling values of teamwork, perseverance, and patience. I firmly believe in the mantra, “pressure is a privilege,” approaching high-stakes moments with confidence. Supported by my parents, who have firsthand experience in travel ball and college softball/baseball, I’ve learned invaluable lessons in dedication and time management. Balancing academics with softball, I strive to excel both on and off the field, mentoring younger players and aiming to leave a lasting impact in the game.

MacKenzie Verdejo – Class of 2026 – Rock Gold
I love softball but also enjoy lifting weights and playing volleyball. When I am not playing softball, I am hanging out with her friends, volunteering at an animal shelter, or walking her Goldendoodle, Trooper. I just got her driver license and look forward to my parents letting me drive alone. I hope to play ball at a D1 College.

Rose Wendel – Class of 2027 – Keystone State Bombers
I grew up in San Diego, California and started hitting in the cages when I was 2 years old. My older siblings played baseball and softball so my parents would toss to me in the cages when they practiced. At the age of 5, I played on an 8U team where I also pitched. I have always been passionate about practicing and playing softball! I started playing travel ball when I was 10! Recently I moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I am a corner infielder, pitcher and strong hitter and will do whatever it takes to help our team! I play for the Keystone State Bombers 16U Gold team out of Manheim, PA! I made the Varsity Softball team as the only Freshman and I also made the High School Varsity Tennis team where I played second doubles and we made it all the way to States! Off the field, I try to make the most of my time as a student, taking all honors classes, being involved in the school government and making lifelong friends. I am bilingual – Spanish and English – so outside of sports I believe in using my time to make a positive impact, whether it’s tutoring a student in Spanish or giving back to my community through volunteering. I am guided by my values including hard work and gratitude. Whether on the field or off, I am committed to always doing my best!

Sophia Whitten – 2025 – Texas Glory IL Red-Steward
I am a middle infielder and outfielder attending Glenwood High School in Chatham, IL. I have verbally committed to playing Division II softball at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan. I am currently playing for a competitive Texas Glory IL-Red team under the leadership of Brian Steward. I have lived in 4 states: Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Illinois. I have played for some of the Top Organizations and with some of the top talent in my class which has in turn given me the opportunities to play in some of the most elite events throughout the country. On the field, I am known as one of the feistiest and scrappiest middle infielders in the Midwest, doing whatever it takes to get the job done for her team. Off the field, my character and intangibles like my strong work ethic and positive attitude are off the charts. Also, a newly accepted member into the National Honor Society, I carry a 4.87 GPA and will have over 20 Advanced Placement credits to get me started at the collegiate level. I also enjoy playing tennis for her high school and volunteering in the community with the Key Club. Like many athletes, I have had to fight through adversity to reach her goals, and the one piece of advice I would like to give younger athletes is, “Never give up, if you believe you can; you will”.
