NCAA Div. I Playoffs: 5 Game-Changing Hitters to Watch in Super Regionals

Jessica Harper of Arizona leads the country with 28 home runs and could be the x-factor in the Tucson Super Regional. Photo: Arizona Softball.

There are 16 teams are left standing in the NCAA tournament and the Women’s College World Series field will be decided this weekend.

Some terrific softball is on tap and stellar pitching performances and offensive outbursts are each likely to happen!

Let’s take a look at some of the players who could be catalysts to their teams’ approach at the plate…

*****

Jessie Harper, Arizona

Harper now leads the nation in home runs with 28 coming into the weekend. She is batting .353 on the year and, centered in the midst of a stellar Wildcats batting order, opposing pitchers would love to pitch around her, but often can’t.

Against the Ole Miss pitching staff this season, a group that includes a quality left-hander in Molly Jacobsen and breakout senior star Brittany Finney, if Harper gets hot, it could be a quick regional round in Tucson.
