Last month, the Florida Vibe was announced as the newest pro softball team and former Oklahoma pitcher Shannon Saile was presented a week ago as the program’s first signee.
On Friday, the team announced from its headquarters in Bradenton, Florida that Kendyl Lindaman, the former standout at the University of Florida, has been signed as the team’s second roster player.
Kendyl will be participating in the inaugural season of the Vibe in the Summer 2022. Currently, she’s a student coach with the Florida Gators.
“I am honored to be a member of the Florida Vibe professional softball team,” stated Lindaman. “This is an exciting opportunity that will allow me and many other athletes the chance to continue to share our love and passion for the game of softball with the ever-growing fan base around the country.”
The outstanding catcher started her career at Minnesota where she was a two-time All-American and had 40 home runs before she announced in December 2018 that she was transferring to Florida.
With Tim Walton and the Gators in 2021, she wrapped up her college playing career compiling a .992 fielding percentage behind the plate as she only made two errors in 253 chances. Offensively, she batted .321 with eight home runs and 37 RBIs in 56 games played. Kendyl was also walked 39 times.
In June of 2020, the talented backstop was voted as the 2020 recipient of the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year award for Division I softball.
Originally from Ankeny, Iowa, she played for the Iowa Premier club team and at Centennial High was a three-sport standout, helping her team win a 5A State title in basketball (2015) and setting her school’s shot put record in track and field.
On the softball fields, she was a three-time Iowa 5A Player of the Year and also set the state career home run record with 71. She was so feared as a hitter at the prep level that she had 67 walks in 40 games her junior campaign including 17 intentional passes in a row at one point.
