2023 Extra Elite 100 third baseman Jaysoni Beachum, who plays for Michael Danley’s highly success Tennessee Mojo team, had a great Summer however you want to look at it.
Last week she was named to our All-Summer 16U Team after she batted .470 with an on-base percentage o .537 and smacked 10 home runs with 47 RBIs and a strong .960 fielding percentage at the Hot Corner that is third base.
In April, we did a fun story titled Jaysoni Beachum Hit 80 Homers in the Kasey Cooper Home Run Derby (& Still Had 5 Outs Before It Was Called!) showing that she is one of the top mashers in the country at any level.
Jaysoni is also the reigning 3A Hitter of the Year for Alabama and earned 1st Team All-State after hitting. 475 with 19 home runs this year.
Here’s a nice piece the local ABC affiliate did spotlighting the softball star:
Earlier this week, the then-sophomore finalized her college decision and—like two others on her Mojo team, pitcher Ashtyn Danley and first baseman Angelee Bueno—she will be doing the Tomahawk Chop as a Florida State Seminole:
Coach Danley has this to say about his prodigious power hitter:
“Jayson is one of the best kids I have ever coached,” he beings. “I don’t think I have ever seen a bad attitude, bad comment or anything negative about anything. She is quiet but her actions and how she carries herself makes her A powerful leader. I look forward to being a small part of her journey and excited to watch the next level.”
Her head coach also stressed that Jaysoni is a good defender as well as hitter.
“She swings a big bat but does an amazing job locking down third base” Coach Danely added. “She is an absolute blessing to coach and I’m so happy to get a front row seat for the next few years.”
Jaysoni told us about her exciting news via our I Committed form on her site… here what she had to say about her commitment to FSU:
