One of the top events in travel ball play each October is the Ultimate Challenge held in Salinas, Calif. featuring many of the top 18U, 16U and 14U teams from California and the West Coast. Sponsored by PGF, the event is hosted by hometown club team Salinas Storm.
Extra Inning Softball has covered the event in previous years and looks to be there again in person next month with the likes of teams from championship-winning organizations such as All American Sports Academy, Central Cal Dirtdogs, Firecrackers, Lady Magic, LTG Lions, So Cal Athletics, So Cal Choppers, Sorcerer, Universal and many more.
One team we always look forward to seeing is Northwest Bullets 18U which this fall will be led by pitcher Addisen Fisher, named last week as the #1 player in the 2024 Extra Elite 100.
Bill Sparry is the Co-Director along with Armando Barragan and feels the Challenge will be another fun event to be at.
“Once again, this tournament will host some very talented teams in all three divisions at the six-field sports complex in Salinas,” Coach Sparry, an assistant with the So Cal A’s, explains. “The winners in all three divisions will also receive a paid entry into the 2023 PGF Nationals.
