CHAPEL HILL – Brittany Jackson will serve as the University of North Carolina softball’s new director of operations, head coach Megan Smith Lyon announced Monday.
“We are thrilled to welcome Brittany to the Tar Heel softball family,” Smith Lyon said.
“Her passion for the game, work ethic, and infectious personality will make an immediate impact on our players and this program. It’s a great day to be a Tar Heel.”
Jackson, a Mansfield, Texas, native was an outfielder on the Kansas softball team from 2017-21, graduating with her bachelor’s degree in sports management, before finishing her softball career at NC State in 2022.  Jackson was coached by Smith Lyon during the 2017 season.
“I am beyond blessed to have been able to play for Coach Smith Lyon and to now be a part of her incredible staff here at UNC,” Jackson said.
“Coach Smith Lyon’s love for the game and passion for family-orientated culture is truly inspiring. I look forward to making a positive impact here and am excited to be a part of the Tar Heel family.”
Since July 2022, Jackson has worked with the Wolfpack Club at NC State, starting as a development associate before being promoted to the assistant director of clubs.
