Event Preview: Las Vegas Midnight Nationals July 11-16… Games Will Be Played All Night Long!
April 27, 2023
Anyone can play travel ball games during the day… but the Las Vegas Midnight Nationals will feature games to be played throughout the nights this July and offer great family fun and activities during the days.
Las Vegas is sometimes called “The City That Never Sleeps” and that will never be more true on the softball scene than this Summer as the CSE 2023 Super Series Finals – Midnight Nationals will be held from July 11-16, 2023.
And as the event title implies, the games will be played all throughout the night.
Cindy Cowart, Event Director of Cowart Sports Events.
That’s one way to beat the heat but does preclude the excuse: “The sun was in my eyes!”
The travel ball tournament will be for ages 10U up through 18U and Event Director Cindy Cowart is understandably excited about this one-of-a-kind tournament.
Nighttime Competition
“At Cowart Sports Events,” she begins, “we are consistently striving to create top quality experiences that can be remembered for a lifetime.”
“This is an open National event, and all are welcome to play and experience our exclusive Power Bracket format where every game requires a winner and it is ‘winner take all.’”
The entire event will be played during the night—between 6 pm to 8:15 am—and teams will average two games per night with the Midnight Nationals itself being a 6-game guarantee consisting of two exhibition games that “you, the competitors, have a hand in determining,” according to Cowart.
Following the exhibition games, the games feature a Power Bracket with a 4-game guarantee where every game counts.
“We believe we offer the only truly competitive format as all our games require a winner,” the head of Cowart Sports Event continues.
The Las Vegas Midnight Nationals will offer something for everyone in the family.
The Las Vegas Midnight Nationals entry fee is less than a thousand dollars per team ($995) and more information can be found on the event website that be accessed by clicking HERE. Another plus: the facilities are top-notch and located all in one place—Majestic Park, a signature 12-field complex.
Additionally, the tournament will play by NCAA rules with some peripheral modifications.
Fun in the Sun
And, in case players, coaches and their families have never been to Las Vegas, there are many fun activities to engage in—click HEREto read this article by VisitLasVegas.com that details 18 This to Do in Las Vegas with Kids.
The Stratosphere Thrill Ride is one of many fun things to do in Las Vegas.
“All our hospitality partners are on the strip and offer huge fun and multiple activities that are family friendly,” the Event Director adds.”
The Botanical Cactus Garden.
Helping a Great Cause
Along with the great competition and memorable experiences on and off the fields, Cowart Sports Events is supporting softball and its athletes by continuing to offer the “Fastpitch Forever” College Scholarships in which $20 of every entry fee goes to its scholarship fund.
All current or incoming high school seniors can apply for consideration in the Fastpitch Forever College Scholarships program.
“All current or incoming high school seniors are encouraged to apply,” Cindy explains, “and last season we were able to award four $2,000 scholarships to help these young women chase their dreams! The beauty of this is the more teams that play with us each year – the more scholarships we can fund.”
“We at Cowart Sports Events all came from the athletic ranks and know what it takes to set a goal and the hard work it takes to achieve and see it through. We also know that each athlete is working hard to have opportunities to conquer the mountain of a college degree. We feel a strong obligation to help and aid in that process.
“While we cannot award a scholarship to play softball – we can provide financial help because you played softball in the form of a scholarship for student-athletes to chase their dreams both academically and athletically. Our goal is to pay forward the life harvest of blessings that we have all been fortunate enough to reap.
Where Better to End the Summer?
With a lot of options to consider for summer softball, Cindy makes an excellent final point about this event, which will surely be remembered by all years to come.
“This is our 13th year with this Nationals Tournament taking place for the first time in Las Vegas,” Cindy concludes. “Bring the whole family for a week of real competition, family fun and new experiences… and where better to end an excellent travel ball softball season?”
