Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them? This is my sixth season with the Bandits. I started with coach (David) Trackwell when the team was being formed at 10U. We’ve had a few coaching changes over the years and it has never set us back. This group gets along well and our coach, Chad Moran, gives us opportunities, like fancy team dinners to bond. This past summer we won the PGF Show Me the Money showcase in Florida and finished 2nd at both the IDT in Colorado and PGF Nationals in California. Being a first year 16U team in the fall had its challenges, but our record was still 23-9-3.

Tell us about your high school team and how you are doing? My high school team, the Beecher Bobcats, is led by legendary head coach Kevin Hayhurst and we have a strong group of girls. We have accomplished a lot already and I’m excited to see what we can do down the road. My freshman class won two IESA state championships in middle school. We have beaten larger schools in 4A and 3A as a school of about 350 kids. I believe our coaching, hard work and good chemistry will take us far this season.

Can you tell us about your experience at PGF Nationals last summer? Last summer at PGF Nationals, we made it to the championship game, but fell a little short and came in 2nd place. I think next summer as a true 16U team, we will make another long run and possibly exceed last year’s accomplishment.

What tournament/showcase/event are you looking forward to this summer and why? I am looking forward to (PGF) Show Me The Money in Gainesville the most because of the exposure our team gets, the location and I like the facilities. Playing at Florida Gators’ stadium for the championship last year was really exciting. I do like how we get opportunities to be seen all summer long because of our awesome showcase schedule.

Which player/team was your toughest opponent and why? While I was on the mound, I would say Texas Riptide was a very good matchup for us and played us competitively every time. Due to our tough schedule, I have faced a lot of really good hitters from teams like the Corona Angels, Athletics Mercado, Lady Magic-Walling, Birmingham Thunderbolts and other Beverly Bandits’ teams. In particular, hitters such as Alisa Sneed and Khamari Hall of TX Riptide and fellow Beverly Bandit and Florida-commit Gabi Comia have been top opponents.

What are you looking for in a future college? In a future college, I would like somewhere that prioritizes team bonding. I also want to have a close relationship with their coaches, especially the pitching coach.

What areas are you interested in future occupations and why? I’m interested in many occupations still, law and sports medicine being two. I’d also be interested in maybe becoming a sports announcer, so I can still be around the game.

Who is your sports hero and why? Samantha Show is my all-time favorite player. She was a phenomenal pitcher in college while also tearing it up at the plate. Like her, I enjoy hitting as well as pitching. She had a ton of swagger, especially with her bat flips.

What’s the best hype song and why? I like anything by Drake or Kid Cudi. They put me in a good mood and hype me up; I find relatable songs very encouraging.

What’s your favorite TV show to binge and why? I’m not a TV show person, but my favorite movie is “The Blind Side.” It really makes you think about other people’s situations and how one person’s help and support can make such an impact.

Do you have a secret talent/skill? My family tells me I am very good at design and have a good sense of fashion.
