It’s never too early to start planning what you’ll do in the second half of the year and—for those who like to play softball in the sun—you may want to lock down your Fall plans before heading into the busy summer tourneys start next month!
One of the premier events this October will be the 2023 Sand Dollar tournament in Gulf Shores, Ala. run by Connect Sports.
Last year saw high profile organizations from all over the country compete including teams from New Jersey (Intensity National – KOD) to Texas (Texas Blaze) and from Florida (Tampa Mustangs) to California (So Cal Athletics).

How long has the Sand Dollar been played?
This event began over 10 years ago. Connect Sports took over operations seven years ago and it has consistently been a 40-70 team tournament with a great competitive atmosphere.
What is the cost for the weekend event?
For five games guaranteed, it’s an $800 entry fee and for seven games guaranteed, there’s a $1,100 option. All teams will play into a single elimination bracket.
In your opinion, what makes the San Dollar such an attractive event for the Fall season?
The facilities and weather for mid-October are hard to beat, along with a pool play and bracket play format that is hard to find in the Fall.
What about the facilities should people know?
The Gulf Shores Sportsplex is one of the top 6-field complexes in the country. All six fields are maintained like collegiate level surfaces.
What are some fun things to do in the area during that weekend?

The 2023 Sand Dollar is an Alliance-approved event, in which Alliance League teams earn points for their games.
