At Extra Inning Softball, we’re proud to share real stories from real softball families, and today’s Parent Hub feature comes from Parker Harless of Boswell, Oklahoma — the father of Class of 2028 infielder Kabrey Harless, ranked No. 283 in our Extra Prospect list. Kabrey plays for Soper High School and the American Freedom 14U National team, soon moving into the 16U National roster.
As a 7–12 grade principal, high school girls’ basketball coach, and softball dad, Parker understands firsthand how demanding this sport can be on families. In this piece, he opens up about a challenge many parents face but rarely talk about: when to say no — especially when softball schedules collide with school, church, and meaningful family time.
It’s an honest look at balance, boundaries, and the faith that guides their decisions.
