Members of the 2022 Women’s National Team (WNT) Canada Cup roster have arrived in Seattle, Wash. for a series of training sessions in preparation for Team USA’s first competition of the 2022 season.

Looking to build off the Tokyo 2020 Olympic silver medal finish, the Red, White and Blue will take part in a series of workouts, practice sessions and simulated game situations June 17-19 before traveling to Surrey, B.C., Canada where Team USA will compete in the Canada Cup scheduled for June 20-26.

“It feels great to have all of our athletes together here in Seattle as we begin our preparations for winning a gold medal at the Canada Cup next week,” said WNT Head Coach, Heather Tarr (Head Coach at Washington).

“I am so excited to get this Canada Cup roster out on the field and to see them compete against the other great teams in this tournament as we continue laying the foundation for this sport in the months and years to come.”

Following this week’s training sessions, the U.S. will begin its quest to the Canada Cup gold medal alongside 11 other teams from various levels including Women’s International, Futures Select, Futures Gold, Showcase Select and Showcase Gold.

The participating teams will open the tournament in two groups with Team USA competing in the Red Pool alongside Aussie Spirit, Chinese Taipei, Czech Republic, T.C. Colorado and Korea while Mexico, Canada, Netherlands, Philippines, Aussie Spirit Development and Calahoo Erins will battle it out in the Black Pool.

The U.S. will kick off pool play on Sunday, June 20 at 8:30 p.m. PT against Korea followed by matchups against T.C. Colorado (June 21 at 3:30 p.m. PT), Czech Republic (June 22 at 1 p.m. PT), Chinese Taipei (June 22 at 9 p.m. PT) and Aussie Spirit (June 23 at 8:30 p.m. PT).

Following the conclusion of pool play, the top four teams from each pool will advance to the Playoff Round with the final two teams going head-to-head in the Canada Cup gold medal matchup on Sunday, June 26.
