As many know, I first got involved in the softball world when I was working at the Torrance, California-based company Student Sports.
My first softball website, in fact, was StudentSportsSoftball.com which—though, no longer around—is where I first began fastpitch coverage including player and team rankings (so you can credit or blame Student Sports for that!). And I loved my time there!
The company has primarily focused on football and baseball events the last few years but is getting back into softball events in a big way this fall, partnering with one of the biggest names in the game—you’ll be hearing more about this soon!
As the company is ramping up its softball division, it needs a person to oversee the events initiative and I was told:
“We do have a 6-month term on it with an option to continue if the event(s) goes well and the person hired is doing a good job.”
Important point: the persons will need to reside in the L.A. area (that’s where Student Sports HQ is located) during the time when the events take place.
My thoughts: this could be a great opportunity for someone looking to work in the softball space, perhaps a recently graduated college player or a club coach with experience and connections with the ability to travel.
