Runs & Roses 14U: Tournament Performance Rankings

Extra Inning Softball continues to expand athlete exposure opportunities nationwide with the launch of its new Tournament Performance Rankings initiative, a growing platform designed to evaluate athletes based on their performance at specific tournaments across the country.

Over the last year alone, Extra Inning Softball has generated more than 15 million organic impressions, continuing to establish itself as the most visible platforms in girls fastpitch softball.

That visibility continues to create recruiting opportunities for athletes as college coaches, organizational leaders, and national evaluators utilize the platform for rankings, recruiting news, player evaluations, and tournament coverage.

Earlier this week, Extra Inning Softball also announced that college coaches can now receive free access to all athlete rankings across the website, further increasing exposure opportunities for players nationwide. Learn more HERE.

Unlike many recruiting platforms, Tournament Performance Rankings leaderboards are completely free for all viewers to access, giving athletes, parents, coaches, and recruiters an open opportunity to track performance-based results from participating events.

The national leaderboard page also highlights additional tournaments currently partnering with Extra Inning Softball to provide athletes with verified event-based evaluations that enhance recruiting resumes and national visibility.

Runs & Roses 14U Standouts

Extra Inning Softball is excited to officially announce the top performers from the Runs & Roses 14U Tournament Performance Rankings following a highly competitive weekend at the D1 Prospects-owned and operated event led by Shawna Weaver.

Known for bringing together strong competition and high-level talent, Runs & Roses once again provided athletes with an opportunity to compete on a major stage while gaining additional national exposure through Tournament Performance Rankings.

Paytin Wilson – Class of 2030 – Lehi Crush-Peck

Paytin Wilson, a Class of 2030 catcher, first baseman, and second baseman coached by Josh Peck, delivered one of the most impressive all-around performances at the Runs & Roses 14U Tournament Performance Rankings. Competing for Lehi Crush,

Wilson earned recognition as the No. 1 Overall Player while also securing the No. 1 Hitter and No. 1 Catcher honors after an exceptional weekend against strong competition.

Wilson’s offensive numbers continue to separate her as one of the rising young hitters in her class. During the 2026 spring season, she posted a .550 batting average with a .607 on-base percentage, a 1.577 OPS, and a .970 slugging percentage across 122 plate appearances.

Wilson also previously earned MVP honors at the 2024 Pretty in Pink Tournament, further adding to an already impressive resume at a young age.

While her statistics stand out, Wilson says one of the moments she still replays in her mind came when she hit her first over-the-fence home run at just 11 years old.

“I was so proud of myself and of how hard I had worked to get to that point,” Wilson shared. “It taught me that hard work pays off, and that sense of accomplishment continues to push me to keep working hard.”

Wilson’s leadership style centers around positivity and encouragement, something she believes can completely change the momentum of a game.

Whether it is complimenting teammates, staying upbeat during adversity, or helping others stay confident, she understands the importance of creating positive energy both on and off the field.

Her personal motto, “Give it all you’ve got,” reflects the mindset that continues to fuel her development as both an athlete and competitor.

Wilson also credits Coach Josh Peck for helping shape her confidence and perspective within the game.

“When I first joined the team, he had a lot of confidence in me, and that confidence rubbed off on me,” Wilson said. “He taught me that there is an important balance between hard work and fun, because if there is no fun in playing, then why would we play it?”

Class of 2030 standout Paytin Wilson takes command behind the plate.

Beyond softball, Wilson is highly invested academically and also competes as a two-sport athlete in basketball. She believes softball has taught her one of the most important lessons in sports and life: mental toughness.

“My only enemy is myself,” Wilson explained. “If I go into the box thinking I am going to strike out, it will probably happen. If I go in with confidence and the mindset that I am going to hit a hard base hit, more times than not I will succeed.”

Her personality also shines through every time she steps into the batter’s box to the sound of “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC, a walk-up song chosen during a Father’s Day tournament that still gives her an adrenaline rush before every at-bat.

Wilson also expressed appreciation for the national exposure opportunities being created for younger athletes through Extra Inning Softball.

“I love how EIS recognizes younger age groups,” Wilson said. “A lot of recognition usually goes to older athletes, so it’s really cool seeing younger players get covered too. After all, that’s where all the stars begin their softball careers.”

Bailey Thatcher, a Class of 2032 infielder for Utah Prime under Head Coach Casey Winn, earned recognition as the No. 1 Infielder at the Runs & Roses 14U Tournament Performance Rankings after a standout weekend against top competition.

Thatcher continues to establish herself as one of the rising young hitters in Utah softball, currently batting .431 against 14U competition with 12 home runs and 46 RBIs across 132 at-bats.

One of her biggest accomplishments came when her first-year 12U team moved up an age division and captured a State Championship as the youngest team in the field.

Thatcher also still remembers hitting three home runs in a single game against the No. 1-ranked team in the state, Utah Warriors, helping lead her team to a tournament championship victory.

Known for her positivity and consistency, Thatcher believes leadership starts with effort and attitude.

“Stay coachable at all times,” Thatcher shared. “Always gives 100% effort in practices and games and quietly sets the tone through her consistency and work ethic.”

Her personal motto is “KEEP GOING,” and she says her drive comes from always trying to improve while chasing her dream of becoming a Division I softball player like her cousin, Rylee McCoy, of the Oregon Ducks.

Softball has taught Thatcher the importance of dedication and extra work.

“Success doesn’t just happen overnight,” Thatcher said. “It comes from consistency, effort, and always trying to improve.”

Her walk-up song, “Stuntin’ On You,” reflects the confidence and energy she brings to the field.

“It’s fun, confident, energetic, and helps me get locked in before an at bat,” Thatcher explained. “It reminds me to trust the work I’ve put in.”

Thatcher also praised Extra Inning Softball for helping recognize younger athletes and expanding exposure opportunities for players from emerging softball regions.

Elsie Turner, a Class of 2031 centerfielder and pitcher for Mayhem under Head Coach LJ Jackson, earned recognition as the No. 1 Outfielder at the Runs & Roses 14U Tournament Performance Rankings after showcasing her athleticism, energy, and positive leadership throughout the weekend.

Turner has spent the last three years developing within the Mayhem program and continues to emerge as a versatile athlete with impact potential on both sides of the game.

One of Turner’s proudest accomplishments so far has been hitting her first over-the-fence home runs, a milestone she says reminded her that hard work truly pays off.

She also still replays one defensive sequence in her mind from a recent game when teammate Hayden fielded a ground ball at third and started a perfectly executed play that ended with Cadynce recording outs at both first base and home plate.

Known for her upbeat personality and encouragement toward teammates, Turner says one of the biggest ways she leads is by constantly cheering others on and helping teammates stay confident after mistakes.

Her coaches, Amber Kissling and LJ Jackson, have also played a major role in her development over the last four years.

“They tell me that my mistakes are okay and to get back up and flush it to make a better play next time,” Turner shared. “They are the ultimate hype coaches and celebrate all our victories, big and small.”

Turner says softball has taught her confidence in her abilities while also reinforcing the value of dedication and effort.

“Softball has taught me that I’m super talented and I need to use my talents,” Turner said. “Also that hard work pays off and is worth it.”

Her energetic personality also shows every time she steps onto the field to her walk-up song, “EoO” by Bad Bunny, which she says reflects her fun and energetic personality.

Outside of softball, Turner also competes in volleyball for both her middle school and her town’s club team. She hopes to continue inspiring younger athletes by encouraging them to never give up after mistakes and always remain a positive teammate.

Turner also shared her excitement about the growing opportunities through Extra Inning Softball.

“This is my first experience with it, but I think it’s exciting to see where players match up to other players their age that they’re competing against,” Turner said.

Bryir Palmer – Class of 2030 – Utah Warriors & Unity

Bryir Palmer earned recognition as the No. 1 Pitcher/Hitter at the Runs & Roses 14U Tournament Performance Rankings after delivering one of the most complete performances of the weekend.

2030 Palmer currently plays for Utah Warriors under Head Coach Sandy Wall while also competing with the Unity organization coached by Ashley VanBoxmeer.

Known for her ability to impact the game both in the circle and at the plate, Palmer continues to emerge as a rising two-way athlete with a strong competitive mindset and growing national exposure.

Already hitting 63 MPH as an eighth grader, Palmer combines power in the circle with consistency at the plate. During her recent season, she recorded 88 strikeouts across 69 innings, proving her ability to dominate against quality competition.

One of her most memorable moments came during the tournament semifinals when she was called into a high-pressure situation late in the game.

Class of 2030 standout Bryier Palmer attacks at the plate.

With her team leading by two runs, no outs, and two runners already on base, Palmer entered the circle and shut the door, allowing no runs to score and helping send her team into the championship game.

Beyond the statistics, Palmer’s leadership mentality also stood out throughout the evaluation process. She believes staying positive, even during difficult moments, helps build trust with teammates and creates confidence throughout the dugout. That mindset has become part of what fuels her daily drive to improve.

“What fuels my drive is trying to work harder and be better every day,” Palmer shared.

She also credits coach Wall as a major influence in her development, especially when it comes to confidence and mental toughness in the circle.

“She is always reminding me to be confident and own the mound,” Palmer said. “Having her help me with this has made such a big difference in my performance.”

Softball has also helped Palmer grow beyond the field. As her game has improved, so has her confidence in everyday life, something she says has been one of the biggest personal benefits of the sport.

Known for supporting teammates during games and practices while also encouraging athletes online through social media, Palmer continues to demonstrate the type of leadership and positivity that extends well beyond the box score.

With aspirations of playing at the next level, Palmer’s performance at Runs & Roses only added to the growing attention surrounding her game nationally.

Palmer’s fun personality also shows through her walk-up song choice, “Go To Town” by Doja Cat. She says she chose the song simply because it is fun and helps her enjoy the moment every time she steps onto the field.

Palmer also shared her appreciation for the growing national reach of Extra Inning Softball and the visibility it is helping bring to athletes in her region.

“One of the things I love is that Extra Inning Softball is trying to reach Utah girls,” Palmer said.

How Tournament Performance Rankings Work

Tournament Performance Rankings allow Extra Inning Softball to evaluate athletes based on their performance while competing directly against their peers at a specific event.

Rankings are built using submitted tournament statistics, while also taking into consideration bracket play performances, strength of competition, and overall team success throughout the event.

As the initiative continues to grow nationally, the goal remains simple: create additional exposure opportunities for athletes while recognizing standout performances on some of the biggest stages in youth softball.

EXTRA INNING SOFTBALL
Growing Exposure Opportunities Nationwide

The Tournament Performance Rankings initiative continues to provide athletes with valuable national exposure while creating another layer of verified evaluation data for recruiting purposes.

By showcasing performances from specific tournaments, athletes gain visibility on national leaderboards that can be viewed by college coaches, recruiters, organizations, and families across the country.

As more events join the initiative, Extra Inning Softball believes Tournament Performance Rankings will continue becoming a major asset for athlete recruiting resumes and long-term player evaluation.

The future expansion is already underway.

Extra Inning Softball will officially open Regional Watchlist nominations on May 29 for athletes in the Classes of 2031 through 2034. Coaches and parents can submit athletes for consideration through the Submissions tab on the Extra Inning Softball website.

Additionally, at the end of July, nominations will officially open for the Regional and National Athlete Rankings for the Class of 2030.

Families, athletes, coaches, and organizations are encouraged to follow the official rankings schedule for key launch dates, nomination windows, leaderboard announcements, and upcoming opportunities throughout the year.

With national exposure continuing to grow and more opportunities launching throughout the year, Extra Inning Softball believes the Tournament Performance Rankings initiative is only beginning to reshape how athletes gain visibility, recognition, and recruiting momentum across the country.
