BOLTS’ HOOP DREAMS
Kennedy Barron, a 2021 P/IF for Birmingham Thunderbolts 03, helped Pisgah High, AL, beat TR Miller High of Brewton, AL, 59-52, to give the Eagles their third straight AHSAA Class 3A state championship.
Now, Barron, a Duke commit, will step on the softball field for Pisgah’s season opener on Friday as the Eagles begin their quest to win a third consecutive Class 3A state championship in softball.

The Birmingham Thunderbolts had another player win a state championship in basketball as Katie Flannery, a 2023 IF/C for Bolts 04, helped Spain Park High of Hoover, AL, beat Hoover High, AL, 47-44, for its second AHSAA Class 7A state title in the past three years. Now, Flannery will join the Jaguars softball team, which is off to a 9-0 start.
