Why Janie Goldin is Elite Behind the Plate

When it comes to elite backstops in the Class of 2027, Janie Goldin stands at the top. Ranked #1 catcher nationally and #1 in the Southeast Region, Goldin is a game-changer for Buford High School (GA) and Mojo Lewis, blending high-level athleticism with a rare connection to her teammates—especially her pitchers.

Here’s how we break down the rise of Goldin’s competitive mindset, her off-the-field work ethic, and the leadership qualities that set her apart. From high-pressure moments in championship games to quiet mornings of solo training, Goldin’s commitment to excellence runs deep.

Keep reading to see how this Easton and Rawlings Army ambassador has earned the title of the nation’s top catcher—and why she’s just getting started.
