Presley Mitchell was doing what she loved most, playing softball for the Texas Attitude 12U team, getting hits and stealing bases when the 11-year-old suddenly collapsed on the field during a tournament on Saturday at Texas Health Foundation Park in Denison, Texas.
She was taken to a nearby hospital where she passed away, according to a report by KXII Fox News 12.
The cause of death is unknown at this point and the Grayson County Medical Examiner is investigating.
Mitchell’s aunt, Lori Skipper wrote in a Facebook post, “Her life was softball where she was playing a tournament and collapsed on field in her favorite place. She did not come back. God needed her right then even tho we are so lost.”
