Team USA left no doubt on the world stage once again. Powered by six hits and a standout performance from Aspen Boulware, the U.S. U-18 Women’s National Team closed out the 2025 WBSC U-18 Women’s World Cup Finals with a 7–2 victory over world No. 1 Japan.
The win sealed an undefeated tournament run and delivered a record-setting fifth consecutive world championship (2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2025) — the ninth overall for the program. Team USA also extended its remarkable streak to 48 straight wins at the World Championship level.
This year’s final marked the 12th time the U.S. and Japan have clashed for gold, with Team USA now holding seven championship victories in the rivalry. The Americans remain the only country to medal in every edition of the WBSC U-18 Women’s World Cup, boasting 15 medals in total: nine gold, five silver, and one bronze.

Boulware and Offense Lead the Charge
The championship matchup at Devon Park started at 2 p.m. CT, and Team USA’s lineup wasted no time making noise. Boulware delivered at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a triple, while Ki’ele Ho-Ching, Juliana Hutchens, Addyson Sheppard, and Payton Westra each added a hit. Westra chipped in a double to fuel the attack.
In the circle, Lilly Goodwin set the tone early with two strikeouts through three innings. Caroline Stanton came in to finish the job, striking out five batters and locking down the championship.
Dominant From Start to Finish
The victory capped Team USA’s sixth win of the tournament. The road included Opening Round victories over China, Chinese Taipei, and Canada, followed by Super Round wins against Japan and Mexico to secure the No. 1 seed for the finals.
The Americans overwhelmed opponents throughout, winning three games by run rule and outscoring their opponents 48–9. Hutchens paced the offense with a stunning .800 batting average, followed by Boulware (.588) and McLaine Hudson (.562). The pitching staff of Madi Doty, Brielle Gardiner, Goodwin, Ella Kate Smith, and Stanton combined for 36 strikeouts while surrendering only seven earned runs across 36 innings.
Awards and Honors Pile Up
Team USA didn’t just win — they dominated the leaderboards. The Eagles led the tournament in 10 offensive categories, while Stanton earned the top mark for most pitching wins.
Three Americans were named to the All-World Team — Boulware, Hudson, and Hutchens. Hutchens claimed Tournament MVP honors and swept three offensive awards (Leading Hitter, Most RBIs, and Most Home Runs). Boulware was recognized for Most Runs Scored, while Stanton secured Best Defensive Player.
With another gold secured, the U-18 Women’s National Team continues to set the standard on the international stage — combining skill, depth, and relentless determination.
